As time goes on, you inevitably accrue a collection of sheet sets (especially if you're married). Sheets are fun no doubt; you can have different colors, different textures, and different fabrics. There is a whole world of sheets out there for you to enjoy. Once you have that collection of sheets however (and that collection seems to just grow and grow with time), you might have trouble keeping track of it all.
The first thing to master is keeping your linens organized. It may seem obvious, but don't leave your linen closet in shambles. You want to fold your sheets and pillowcases, keeping them orderly and not all over the place. There's no way you'll be able to find what you need if your sheets and pillowcases aren't at least folded. Once your sheets are folded you should store your sheets and pillowcases as actual sets. Keep the plastic, zip-up bag that comes with the linens and use it to store your various sheet sets. This way you can easily see what goes where and where it al is.
Another way to organize your sheets and linens is by the type of sheet it is. You can sort them into fitted sheets, flat sheets, and pillowcases. This way you can view them all in categories. Allowing you to mix and match, sorting your linens by type gives you a bit more flexibility in how you use your sheets. If you just need a pillowcase for a visiting friend or relative, it's easy just to grab a pillow case from the pillow case pile, rather than searching through the plastic bag.
Both of these options could work for you and could prove useful in better organizing your linen closet. Your sheets don't have to be in disarray, but you can have an organized linen closet. You should be able to quickly access your belongings; you shouldn't have to hunt for them!
