A dirty house is not only a problem because of the clutter that lies around making your house look messy and unattractive. Germs are also more common in a dirty house, since they have more places to live. Even if your house is immaculate, germs are everywhere. Germs can cause a number of problems, most of them leading to someone getting sick. That sickness can range anywhere from something very trivial to something that can be deadly, so you need to make sure that you kill those germs and keep those diseases out of your house.
There are a number of professional products out there that are advertised to kill germs and keep you healthier. Some of them are good to use and cannot be replaced, like hand sanitizer. The problem with many of these disinfectants is that they can be expensive, especially if you are cleaning a large area and trying to disinfect it all. There are, however, alternatives to the store bought items. You can easily make your own disinfectant and get those germs out of your house inexpensively.
All you will need is some borax, hot water, and a container big enough to hold a little over a gallon of mixture. Put a gallon of hot water into the container, and then mix in about a cup of borax. You can then apply this mixture to cloths or paper towels and use it all over your house to keep it germ-free.
Keep in mind that while borax is toxic to germs, it is also toxic to humans. When using borax, make sure to follow the directions on the borax packaging. Use rubber gloves and goggles to keep the borax out of sensitive areas on your body, and be sure that no person or animal will eat or drink any of it. Consumption is harmful, and potentially fatal.
