It's almost impossible to avoid getting soil or mud stains on your clothes. As you grow up and get older, you (hopefully) grow out of the splashing in the mud phase. However even when you're all grown up and don't make mud pies, you still have to deal with the occasional mud splash or fall that results in you soiling your shirt or pants (especially in the ever so messy winter time). So how can you remove those so stubborn soil and mud stains? Sometimes a simple wash just doesn't do it so here's a new method.
Vinegar isn't just for cooking—it's for cleaning too! Vinegar is basically a universal laundry tool and can be utilized in several different ways, one of which is to remove those hard-to-get-out soil and mud stains. There are a few different ways you can go about using that vinegar from your pantry to its best use. You can always just pour a bit into your regular laundry load and let it run that way, but for specific stains you might want to go in another direction.
Take an old rag and directly rub the vinegar into the stain. Direct contact with the vinegar will make the stain more likely to come out with this method. Be generous in your vinegar application and really rub the vinegar into the stain. Then, when you wash the actual garment, the stain shouldn't have as big of a problem coming out. If you're really concerned about your soil or mud stain, you can put extra vinegar in with the rest of the load.
Mud and soil stains are one of those most irritating kinds of stains because they're ugly and they're often very difficult to remove. Thanks to vinegar however, you don't have to worry yourself over those stains and can be successful in removing them.
