Tile Cleaning Machines

Summary: Cleaning tile and grout can be a major pain in the rear end. It always seems like no matter how hard you scrub or what type of cleaners that you use, you can never get the surfaces clean enough. Well one way that you can ensure that you get every nook and cranny of the tile in your home or office clean is through the use of tile cleaning machines.

Tile cleaning machines are a wonderful way to not only conduct a quick clean of the tile in your home or office, but to also get out that deep down ingrained dirt. However, there is more to choosing a tile cleaning machine than going down and picking one up. Here are some simple guidelines that you need to keep in mind when looking for the proper equipment for your next cleaning assignment.

  • Purpose. When considering what type of tile cleaning machine to get, you need to determine the intended purpose. Do you want your results to be nice and shiny or something more in depth? Each unit that you use will have a different purpose, though it may not look like it.
  • Size. Not only do you need to take a look at the size of the unit itself, but also the size of the project. For example, you will not use the same type of tile cleaning machine to clean the floor of a store the size of Wal-Mart as you will when cleaning the tile in your home bathroom. For the larger jobs (like having to clean a Wal-Mart floor) use a large industrial tile cleaner. However, for the smaller jobs you will want to use the smaller units that can fit on your back (for the larger kitchen jobs) or the even smaller units that will fit in a small corner of a bathroom.
  • Basic Types. No matter what size of tile cleaning machine you have in mind, there are two basic types that you can choose from. Those two types are the steam cleaner and the pressure washer. Each basic type will perform in a different manner and you should be familiar with both. Steam cleaners are fantastic for cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, while pressure washers are better suited for deeper cleaning.
  • Models. Frankly, unless you are planning on starting your own cleaning company it is totally unnecessary to purchase a tile cleaning machine. As with most things in the world, tile cleaning machines will come in different models that cost different amounts to purchase, so you will be better served to rent them. Most home tile cleaning machines will cost a minimum of $250.00, while the industrial models will cost a minimum of $1000.00.
