Kitchen Cleaning

Summary: Cleaning your kitchen can be a very overwhelming thing, but it needn't be. After all, with all the different types of surfaces, appliances, and little nooks and crannies its no wonder that a person can be a little intimidated. Just take it one task at a time and you'll be done in no time!

Remember that kitchen cleaning is much like cleaning any room. It's important to clean from top to bottom when you're cleaning any room. Since you may likely feel frustrated if you have mopped and swept the floor, only to get it dirty again when you clean off the counter, save your floors for last.

Start cleaning your kitchen by wiping the upper cabinets down, and getting any cobwebs out of the corners of the ceiling. Clear off the counters and get all the grime off of them by wiping the counters with a cloth and make sure it all lands in the garbage. Then, clean those counters with an all-purpose kitchen spray cleaner. Wipe off any small appliances and put them in their proper spots. Clean the back splash/walls with an appropriate cleaner and move next to the stove, oven, and microwave.

Stoves can get really gross, so be prepared for that. Scrape or wipe any debris that is on the stove top away. Using multipurpose kitchen cleaner, clean your stove top thoroughly. Be sure that you get all the way down to the area around the burners. Now, take an oven cleaner and apply it into the inside of the oven. Follow the directions on the container for best results.

Microwave a bowl of water until it boils. Leave it in the microwave for a time and then get to work scraping and scrubbing the filth away in your microwave. The steam from the water will have loosened any gunk on the walls, dish, and ceiling of your microwave, making it easier to remove filth.

Be sure that all the dishes in the sink get done, whether by hand or machine. Wipe down the lower cabinets and the refrigerator. Toss out any old, nasty stuff residing inside your refrigerator and wipe down the walls, shelves, and drawers with all-purpose cleaner and possibly glass cleaner (if you have glass shelves). This may also be the perfect time to defrost your freezer and clean out all the gross things from it as well. A bowl of boiling water can also be placed inside the freezer to help melt the ice a bit. Wipe down the shelves and walls to completely clean the freezer, and place all the food left back inside.

Finally, sweep the floor and deposit all the dirt into the trash. Take out the trash. Before replacing the bag in the can wash out the can first. Mop the floor, and you are now done cleaning your kitchen.
