A Great Outdoor Furniture Cleaner

I admit I am not one for cleaning my outdoor furniture; it always seemed such a time-consuming hassle. I would spend hours trying to get the furniture to look good and it would be of no use. I might as well have just sprayed it with a hose. That has now changed. I used CLR's Outdoor Furniture Cleaner and it was simply awesome. The furniture looked great with minimal effort on my part.

CLR Outdoor Furniture Cleaner can clean almost instantly. From the moment it is sprayed on you can actually see that the cleaner is working. All that is needed is to spray on the cleaner generously and then let is set for a couple of minutes. This allows the cleaner to do its work and the dirt and grim to loosen. Using either a brush, sponge, or cloth, wipe the furniture and then rinse it off. I found that using a brush seemed to make the cleaning go faster and easier. When I used a cloth it was harder to remove some of the dirt and grime. If the furniture is especially dirty then repeat the procedure.

Since this particular cleaner is non-abrasive, it works well on almost all outdoor furniture such as items made from plastic or resin, rattan, wicker, wood, wrought iron, vinyl, PVC, and canvas. I cleaned two resin patio chairs and the iron railing on the porch. Both the iron railing and the chairs looked like new when I finished the cleaning process.

I cleaned the furniture in the driveway because that area is the most open around my house. However, this product can actually be used to clean the furniture while it is still on the grass since it is biodegradable—it will not harm the grass or flowers.

The directions on the back of the bottle are simple and easy to read, and taking the extra minute or two to read can reduce the chances of harming oneself. The first step in the directions talks about wearing household rubber gloves. If the cleaner comes into contact with your skin it feels like it is burning, it actually irritated my arm when I miss-directed the spray nozzle and sprayed my arm instead of the iron railing. Usually there is a strong odor when using cleaning products. I did not notice any real strong chemical smell while using this product. However, I was outdoors, which makes it difficult to smell anything from the cleaner.

I like the fact that the CLR Outdoor Furniture Cleaner comes with a money-back guarantee stating right on the bottle "CLR Outdoor Furniture Cleaner must perform to your complete satisfaction or return to place of purchase for a full refund of purchase price." I don't remember seeing that on some of the other outdoor furniture cleaner.

Want to make cleaning your outdoor furniture a breeze next year? After you clean it & it dries this year, slap on a coat of CAR WAX of any brand of your choice. If you want to be lazy, use the wipe on/spray off kind or spray on/spray off kind. Rain sheds right off & even snow melts more quickly.
