Carpet Shampooing

To keep your home looking great, it takes some effort and planning. Everything from furniture placement to the colors you use in a room can have a big impact on the overall look and feel of an area. Selecting just the right decorations for your interior can help you get exactly the appearance you want.

Of course, there are other little details that can make a difference. One of the most important factors in how your home looks is cleanliness. No matter how many nice things you have, your interior will not look put-together and attractive if it isn't kept tidy.

Even if you clean up around the house often, there might be something you're overlooking—the carpets. Sure, you probably vacuum, but what about deep down in the carpet fibers? Over time, dirt, dust, and other particles can become stuck down in your carpet where the vacuum can't get them. When this builds up, your carpet can begin to look dirty and dull no matter how often you vacuum.

Instead of thinking about covering up the problem with an area rug or furniture, consider a fairly simple but effective solution: carpet shampooing. Shampooing the carpet in your home can give it new life by pulling stubborn dirt out of the fibers and washing it away, leaving your home looking cleaner and more beautiful.

To shampoo your carpet, you have some different options. One of the most popular and inexpensive ways to clean your carpet is to rent a shampooer. You can usually find these machines available for rent at grocery or hardware stores, and you can also buy specific shampoos and pretreatments for the machine. These shampooers are fairly simple to use, and although renting the machine means you will be cleaning the carpet yourself, it can definitely be worth it in order to save some money.

First of all, before cleaning, move the furniture off of your carpet and vacuum to remove loose dirt. Next, spot-treat any stains that might need extra cleaning power for removal. The shampooing process consists of applying a foamy soap to the carpet. The machine will agitate the fibers to loosen and remove dirt, then rinse the carpet to reveal a cleaner, more vibrant carpet. After shampooing, you will need to let the area dry before replacing furniture.

Having a clean carpet can make a big difference to your home's appearance. Next time you feel like your carpet could use a cleaning, get it shampooed to remove stuck-on dirt and stains.
