Always Ready for Guests

Written by Amy Gordon (last updated June 19, 2023)

Another article written on this site mentions what must be done to in an emergency cleaning situation. If you have guests that are going to come over, you need to make sure that any room that they are going to go into is at least somewhat presentable. One room that you can almost guarantee that a least one guest will go into is the bathroom. As you well know, the bathroom is one of the harder rooms to clean in the house. When you are doing it at the last minute, so many things will be on your mind, you will want to be ready so you can just scrub away as soon as you know that you need to.

The best way to be prepared to is to place some cleaning supplies under the kitchen sink. Make sure you have a clean rag, paper towels, and an all purpose cleaner. Every bathroom should also be equipped with a toilet bowl brush. That way, if you find out at the last minute that you have to clean out the bathroom, you will not have to go around trying to find all the cleaning supplies that you need.

You will be amazed how great this trick will work. Sometimes you are given very little notice that a guest will be coming over, but other times you will be given no notice at all. If, for example, your friend shows up completely unexpectedly, there will be no time to clean. Even if they happen to see a cluttered living room, it is much more embarrassing for them to see a dirty bathroom. So if someone comes over unexpectedly, just excuse yourself to the bathroom, and all the cleaning supplies you could possibly need will be right there under the sink. If they are not there, you will not have the opportunity to find all the supplies that you need.
