Clean My House

Written by Karen Bates (last updated April 3, 2023)

Do you love a clean house, but feel somewhat overwhelmed when it comes to doing chores? Getting your house neat and tidy can be tough, especially when you have a long list of cleaning tasks to accomplish. Even those of us with the best intentions for keeping a consistently clean house can fall short of this goal in many cases. It isn't always easy to fit cleaning into your schedule, after all.

There are various ways to go about cleaning your house. One of the best tactics you can employ is preventing messes. Taking on small cleaning jobs daily will help maintain cleanliness without you needing to do intense, deep-cleaning tasks every single time you clean. Doing a little bit every day can really add up over the course of a week or two!

To start, it can be helpful to make a list of the things that need to be done in each room. You can look at your list each day and decide which chore should be done. By doing this, your house will get clean and stay that way over time.

Daily chores should normally consist of quick tidying. Clean things up off the floor, move clutter from tables and other furniture, and wipe up any visible messes every day for a few minutes. You can focus on one area of the house each day, or do a quick sweep of everything.

Once a week or so, you should choose an area to deep clean to ensure your home gets a deep-down cleaning over time. You could choose to do one specific job, like cleaning the bathtub, or take a little more time and clean the entire bathroom meticulously. Follow your list to keep track of what has been done recently and what has gone without cleaning the longest. This way, you will better know which areas of your home to focus on.

When preparing to clean your home, be sure to have all of your cleaning tools ready to get the job done right. A broom, mop, vacuum cleaner, duster, all-purpose cleaner, bathroom cleaner, and others can allow you to clean intensely and efficiently, and get the very best results. There are many home made cleaners that are also quite effective if you prefer a more natural route.

With just a few minutes a day and some dedicated cleaning once every week or so, your will have an easy time maintaining your home's cleanliness and beauty.
